Simply tap Record in the Notes or Phone app to create audio recordings and transcripts. Apple Intelligence also generates summaries of your transcripts to get the most important information at a glance.

Writing tools can proofread your writing, rewrite it into different versions, fine-tune the tone and the wording is just right, and summarize selected text with a tap. Writing tools are available almost everywhere you write even in third-party apps.

Prioritized messages in the Mail show urgent messages at the top of your inboxlike an invitation you need to RSVP for that same day or a reminder to check in for your afternoon flight.

The versatile new camera system on iPhone 16 takes great photos from close up and far away. With the 2-in-1 48 MP Fusion camera, you can capture stunning high-resolution images. Or zoom in with optical-quality 2x telephoto zoom. The Ultra Wide camera captures extreme macro close-ups from up close. But also photos with a wider frame that capture more of your surroundings. It's like having four lenses in your pocket. And with Spatial Shots, you can even capture photos and videos in 3D and view them on Apple Vision Pro.

The new Ultra-Wide camera with autofocus captures incredibly sharp, detailed macro photos and videos. You can also capture larger areas of the image without stepping back. And because the camera has a larger aperture and larger pixels, it can capture up to 2.6x more light. This increases image quality even in low light.

Activate Visual Intelligence via the camera controls to learn more about things around you. Simply point iPhone 16 at an object in front of you that you want to know more about or interact with. For example, find out where to buy that new thing you just saw. Or identify plants and animals. And learn much more.

Say hello to the A18. A specially designed chip that's a two-generation leap from the A16 Bionic chip in iPhone 15. It delivers the power for advanced video and photo features like Photographic Styles and Camera Controls. The A18 does all this with exceptional power efficiency for longer battery life.

*Testing conducted by Apple in August 2024 using preproduction iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus units and software, and USB-C charging cables with Apple USB-C Power Adapter accessories (20W Model A2305) and Apple MagSafe chargers (1-meter Model A2580 and 2-meter Model A3250) with Apple USB-C Power Adapter (30W Model A2164). Fast charging tests were conducted with depleted iPhone devices. Times were measured from the Apple logo appearing upon device startup. Charging times vary depending on settings and ambient conditions. Actual results may vary.
